Louise Raymond is Senior Director of Global Corporate Responsibility for The McGraw-Hill Companies. Appointed in 1998 as Director, Corporate Contributions & Community Relations, Ms. Raymond was promoted to Director, Global Corporate Social Responsibility in 2002 and Senior Director in 2007.
Ms. Raymond is responsible for oversight of development and implementation of The McGraw-Hill Companies’ corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy. Her role encompasses management of the corporation’s Environmental Action and Corporate Responsible & Sustainability Committees and implementation of employee initiatives including the corporation’s “Green Teams”; centralizing collection and tracking of key CR-related performance data; guiding development of the corporation’s environmental sustainability strategy; management of inquiries from SRI funds and other external sources of corporate ESG performance; and serving as the chief liaison with the business units and corporate departments charged with accountability in the primary areas of the Corporation’s CR activities including The McGraw-Hill Companies CEO Council and the Nominating & Governance Committee of the McGraw-Hill Board.
Ms. Raymond is also responsible for oversight of the corporation’s community investment program globally, which encompasses the corporation’s direct and regional grantmaking and all of its employee workplace volunteer engagement and giving programs. During Ms. Raymond’s tenure, the corporation has received recognition for its corporate responsibility and community efforts and programs including CRO Magazine’s top 10 Media companies in 2007, Tap Root Award for Pro Bono Service and the 2007 Points of Light Award. In her role, Ms. Raymond staff’s CEO, Terry McGraw in his nonprofit board relationships, including his chairmanship of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy.
Prior to joining The McGraw-Hill Companies Ms. Raymond had a more than 20-year background in New York City government. Her Public Sector positions included serving as Special Assistant to the New City Council President and Deputy Director of the City Council President’s Ombudsman’s Office, and Special Assistant to the Queens Borough President, which included Chairmanship of the Borough President’s Substance Abuse Advisory Council.
